MISSION
|
A lot of progress has been made in the area of virtualization during the last decade. Better resource utilization and ease of maintenance are only some of convincing reasons to replace physical servers with virtual ones.
My current research in LSR is on how to make virtual servers fault-tolerant. It is possible to make certain kinds of failures totally transparent to clients, but this comes at a price of significantly reduced performance. I am currently exploring this tradeoff, using KVM and Xen virtual machine monitors.

BIOGRAPHY
|
I come from Serbia, where I obtained a 4-year BSc degree in Computer Engineering (2008), at ETF (University of Belgrade). My Swiss journey started in 2008 at University of Lugano, where I pursued MSc studies in Embedded Systems Design as the best student in the academic year 2008/09. My collaboration with EPFL and Distributed Systems Laboratory (LSR), led by prof. André Schiper, started in September 2009.
I am Ivana's husband and Iva's father. As a hedonistic human being, I like to eat well, to sleep a lot and I enjoy a simple way of living.
