That year, he moved for a PhD at the University College of Dublin under the supervision of Prof. Kenneth A. Dawson. While finishing his PhD, he moved as post-doc in the gourp of Prof. Sciortino in Rome where he spent two years. In 2003 he earned his PhD with a thesis with the title "Dynamic arrest derived from short-ranged interparticle interactions : application to protein crystallization". On September 2004, he joined the Institut Romand de Recherche Numerique en Physique des Materiaux (IRRMA) where he was hired as project leader. From September 2008, he is SNF Professor at the Institute of Theoretical Physics of the Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne (EPFL)
