In 2008, Mathieu Nuth is awarded the "Houpert" prize of the French Society for University Civil Engineering during the young researchers competition.

In 2006, Mathieu Nuth is awarded the "Best poster award of ENAC PhD poster exhibition 2006" delivered by EPFL-ENAC school.

BIOGRAPHY
Born in France in 1981, and of French-Cambodian origin, Mathieu Nuth is trained in "Ecole Centrale Nantes" engineering school within the civil engineering section. He perfoms his master thesis in 2004, entitled "Thermal ground improvement: application to heat exchanger piles" in the Soil Mechanics Laboratory (LMS) in EPFL. He defends in 2009 his PhD thesis entitled "Constitutive modelling of unsaturated soils with hydro-geomechanical couplings" under the supervision of Professor Lyesse Laloui in the same laboratory. He is now researcher in LMS on the issue of the coupled behaviour of soils.
Mathieu Nuth is the author of a thesis, 8 journal articles, 9 conference papers and a book chapter. He possesses the "First Certificate in English" and the "Diploma Basico de Español".
