MISSION
My general interests are theoretical communications and information theory. I am particularly interested in problems which are motivated by practical applications. In my master project, I considered the role of side information in multiple description problem which can be viewed as a fundamental limit of video coding over networks. I proved a converse for a special case when one of the side decoders reconstructs a function of the source ouput. My investigation shows that it is not possible to extend Ahlswede's converse in no excess rate region case to this problem. I also studied capacity of class of Gel'fand-Pinsker channels and degraded broadcast channel with upgraded relay in my semester project. I found an achievability result for each of them.
