Biography

Tilo brings a diverse experiential background in small business and start-up companies with him that covers a variety of industries, everything from computers to maritime operations to wine making. More recently, he has been active as a researcher in the aerospace industry, participating the European Space Authority study on Emerging Markets and Future Trends in Telecommunication. As member of a team working with SES Astra, he was one of the authors of the that was prepared for the Government of Luxembourg. He was also a contributor to the Study on Opportunities for Satcom Solutions Providing a Return Link to GNSS Applications, part of the LuxLAUNCH Program, a national support measure for innovation and research in Luxembourg. As a project manager and researcher, Tilo has provided research assistance to a variety of companies in the aerospace industry, including ND SatCom, Nokia-Siemens Networks, SES Astra, and EuroTeleServ. Tilo has been active with start-up companies in the computer technology industry, as well as in the service and machining technology industries. He spent ten years working in the maritime industry, where he was active in fleet logistics, maintenance, and operations. He attended the University of Texas at Austin for several years prior to completing his Bachelors degree in Business Management at University of Phoenix. Although he is of Swiss descent, he grew up in California and has resided in six of the United States as well as five other nations prior to relocating to Switzerland in 2005 in order to pursue his goals in higher education. He now divides his time between Zurich, where he lives with his partner Jeannette, and Lausanne.
