Benjamin Ricaud a un doctorat en physique mathématiques de l'Université de Toulon, France (2007).
Il a travaillé au Laboratoire de Mécanique et d'acoustique de Marseille comme postdoctorant ainsi qu'au Centre de Physique Théorique de Marseille, au CEA Cadarache et au Laboratoire d'Analyse Topologie et Probabilités Marseille.
