Dario Rodighiero is a digital humanist deeply versed in design practice. He is a postdoctoral research fellow at EPFL and member of the Laboratory of Digital Humanities directed by Frédéric Kaplan. His work focuses on the visual representation of individuals, especially on the mapping of academic collectives and their hidden dynamics.
Its development of an alternative approach to data visualization involves the figure of the reader as a thoughtful practitioner of visual information, who is situated on the threshold of the sensible that divides the digital traces from their representation.
He received a PhD in science from the EPFL attending the doctoral program of Architecture and Sciences of the City. His doctorate was advised by Prof. Frédéric Kaplan, director of DHLAB at EPFL, and Prof. Boris Beaude, member of the Institute of Social Sciences at UNIL, and it was funded by Prof. Marilyne Andersen, dean of the ENAC at EPFL.
Formerly Dario joined the médialab of Sciences Po in Paris, led by Prof. Bruno Latour. He has also been an information scientist at the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre, and an interaction designer at the University of Milan-Bicocca, where he has contributed in a teaching capacity for seven years.
