Giorgia started her Ph.D. in 2015 in the Doctoral Program of Civil and Environmental Engineering (EDCE) at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL). Giorgia earned her Bachelor and Master Degrees in Building Engineering from the Politecnico di Torino, graduating with honors. In 2014 she also obtained a double Master degree in Building Engineering from Politecnico di Torino and Politecnico di Milano. In her academic career she was a visiting scholar at the Delft University of Technology in The Netherlands and in the International Centre for Indoor Environment and Energy (ICIEE) at DTU (Copenhagen, Denmark). Her core research interests and competences are in energy efficient strategies, sustainable design, thermal and visual comfort. These two latter topics represent the main focus of her doctoral research, in which she studies the effect of visual and thermal factor interactions on human comfort perception and performance.
