I obtained my PhD in Mechanical Engineering from ETH Zurich in 2014, honoured by ETH medal. My doctoral research was carried out at Institute of Fluid Dynamics under supervision of Prof. P. Jenny. It was concerned with stochastic modeling of rarefied gas flows. Next, I spent two years at RWTH Aachen as a Postdoc Associate in group of Prof. M. Torrilhon in Aachen Institute of Computational Engineering Sciences. Afterwards in October 2017, I obtained Ambizione grant from Swiss National Science Foundation to further develop my research towards modeling and simulation of flow phenomena far from the equilibrium. Since then I have been a researcher at Chair of Computational Mathematics and Simulation Science in the group of Prof. J. Hesthaven. Meanwhile I have been visiting researcher at different institutes, the most recent ones being at Caltech hosted by Prof. H. Owhadi and at Stanford hosted by Prof. H. Tchelepi.
My research lies at the interface of particle-based kinetic method development and physical investigation of non-equilibrium phenomena. I pursue stochastic particles for simulation of multi-scale thermo-flow processes.
