Biography
Tristan Maillard joined the EPFL as Secretary General in 2017. He holds a Master and PhD degree from ETH Zurich in theoretical physics. He was awarded a Marie Curie Fellowship to pursue his postdoctoral research on the phenomenological implications of string theory at Ecole Polytechnique in Paris.He then developed 10 years of experience in the management of sciences. First at the Swiss National Science Foundation where he organized in 2014 the Temporary Back-up Schemes during the non-association to the European Programs and set up in 2016 the funding scheme Bridge between SNSF and Innosuisse to enable scientists to quickly transform their results into products or services. As head of the division for Natural and Engineering sciences, he was member of its extended management team between 2015 and 2017
