Urban habitat and developement
Focusing on the housing of the Poorest in Southern countries and contexts of crises due to
natural disasters or wars, in particular architecture of emergency (slums, refugee camps...),
the course proposes a critical analysis of global urbanization in 21st Century.
Living in emergency
PENS-217 offers a technical and social understanding of emergency housing. To do this, it will be a question of designing a habitable refugee camp, then building a shelter and its sanitation equipment using a kit of materials of the type distributed as a humanitarian response.
