Prof., Free University of Berlin, 1977 - Privat-docent, Free University of Berlin 1982 - Privat-docent, University of Neuchâtel 1985 - Full Prof., Université de Lausanne, 1989 - Full Prof., EPFL, 2003 He worked at the Universities of Bonn (Germany), Uppsala (Sweden), Campinas(Brasil), Free University of Berlin (Germany), Wisconsin, Madison (USA), Neuchatel (Switzerland), Manoa, Honululu, Hawaii (USA) and Lausanne (Switzerland). Since 2003 he is full professor at the EPFL (Switzerland) in Lausanne. Research group established at the University of Lausanne in 1989 Research activity: Nanoscience – Scanning tunneling microscopy and spectroscopy – supported nanostructures
