Mission

  • (1998-2010) Responsible Officer (RO) on the JET tokamak for two diagnostics: the Alfvén Eigenmode Active Diagnostic and the fast fluctuation measurement system
  • (2002-2007) Co-project leader for the first upgrade of the AEAD system at JET, co-leading staff from different institutions (EPFL, MIT, UKAEA). The project was successfully completed on schedule with the delivery to JET of the in-vessel antennas and modified plant control equipment in 2005, and the final commissioning of the system completed in 2007
  • (2010 to present) Principal scientific and technical advisor for the second upgrade of the AEAD system at JET, providing guidance to a team from different academic and commercial institutions (EPFL, MIT, CCFE, University of Sao Paulo Brazil, National Instruments USA and Europe). The project was successfully completed in October 2016
  • (2015 to present) Responsible Officer (RO) on the TCV tokamak for the high-frequency magnetic diagnostic system
  • (2010-2012) Leading the EPFL team designing, manufacturing and testing the LTCC-1D sensors that have been installed on the FTU tokamak (Frascati, Italy)
    (2012-2013) Leading the EPFL team designing, manufacturing and testing the LTCC-2D sensors that have been installed on the WEST tokamak (Cadarache, France)
    (2013-2015) Leading the EPFL team designing, manufacturing and testing the LTCC-3D sensors that have been installed on the TCV tokamak (Lausanne, Switzerland)
    (2010-2016) Leading the EPFL team designing, manufacturing and testing the prototype LTCC-1D sensors foreseen for installation on the ITER tokamak (Cadarache, France)
  • (from 2022 onwards)
    Leading the EPFL team designing, manufacturing and testing the prototype inductive magnetic sensors
    produced with photolithography techniques foreseen for installation in DTT and DEMO
