I was born in Bucharest, raised in Romania and and the USA, and educated at Cornell University, from where I received a BA (1998) and an MEng (1999) in Computer science. I have led technical teams at various technology companies over the years including several startups and a couple of larger firms such as Sony Electronics and Amazon.com. I am currently (again) a PhD student in the School of Computer and Communication Sciences at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne in the Operating Systems Laboratory (LABOS) under the supervision of Professor Willy Zwaenepoel.
