Studio BA1

The first year of architecture aims at acquiring the essential tools to design and build an architectural project and an understanding of architecture as craft, thought and attitude, using the conception of space as a way to understand the relationship between living beings within the environment.

The land of a thousand dances

Let's consider the act of maintenance as a potential for project making : let's observe uses and traces that result from it in order to develop and carry out interventions that will allow us to reinforce, adapt, remove or increase the dynamics identified. This fourth round is taking place on campus.

Poly-Trees: species pathways

This teaching unit proposes a reflection on the EPFL-UNIL campus through a transcalar analysis aiming to improve the strategies defining the built environment and public spaces of both campuses - while encouraging the interaction between all of the species within them and the ecological transition.

Border Forensics

The course will introduce students to different forms of violence related to the existence of state borders and social boundaries, focusing on particular situations in Switzerland, and the way spatial, geostatistical analysis and architectural design can be used to document and contest this violence
