Sandy's research is mainly focused on the design and development of Personal Learning Environments and contextual recommender systems. Currently working on the Jumpers CTI project. Also involved in the STELLAR Network of Excellence in Technology Enhanced Learning(EU, FP7). Among other things, she chaired the program for JTEL Winter School 2011. Worked on the ROLE Project (FP7) focused on the use of information and communication technologies in self-regulated and social life long learning. Worked on the Palette European project (FP6) aiming at developing interoperable Web services to sustain individual as well as organizational learning in Communities of Practice.

Awards & Honors

• Received the LAU President Award in June 2006 for having graduated with the highest cumulative GPA in the School of Engineering & architecture. • Received the LAU Rhode Orme Award intended for a female student in “recognition of her outstanding sprit of devotion, her objectiveness & her services regardless of recognition.”
