Philippe Caroff currently serves the EPFL community on Education, Research, and Innovation in Quantum, as the executive director of the Quantum Science and Engineering Center. In his previous role (2017-2022) he served as a principal research manager at Microsoft Quantum, working on growing quantum material crystals. Philippe's technical background lies in the area of compound semiconductor nanotechnology, epitaxy and quantum materials, with academic research roles at Lund University, CNRS in France, and the Australian National University.
