I did my PhD under the supervision of Tamas Hausel at EPFL and the Institue of Science and Technology Austria . From 2017-2019 I was a postdoctoral researcher at the Sorbonne University Paris 6 with François Loeser. Since September 2019 I hold the chair of arithmetic geometry at EPFL as a tenure track assistant professor. For more information see my CV.
I work in algebraic and arithmetic geometry. My research uses ideas from p-adic and motivic integration to study the interplay between geometric and arithmetic aspects of the cohomolgy of algebraic varieteis. We have found applications of the ideas to moduli spaces appearing in mirror symmetry, the Langlands program and enumerativ geometry.

Courses

Algebra I - fundamental structures

MATH-113

The aim of this course is to introduce and study the basic notions of abstract algebra.

Student seminar in pure mathematics

MATH-563

The goal of the seminar is to learn the main aspects of class field theory, which aims at understanding abelian extensions of global fields in terms of the arithmetic of the field. The theory can also be seenas a first instance of the Langlands correspondence.

Topology II - fundamental groups

MATH-225

We study the topological notions of union and quotients of spaces; we discuss covering spaces and fundamental groups further, The notion of cell attachement is introduced and the Seifert-van Kampen Theorem is proven. Examples of surfaces illustrate the techniques.
