This course is an introduction to contemporary Iran. It emphasizes on the three dimensions of Iranian identity: nationalism (Iranian culture), Shi'ism, Western influence.
The Middle East: History and contemporary issues
This course offers historical, political and cultural keys to understanding this vast area which, according to one of its geographical meanings, includes Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, Jordan, Israel, Egypt, the Arabian Peninsula, Iraq and Iran.
