Biography
I am a PhD student in the Gräff Lab of neuroepigenetics at EPFL. Prior to my doctoral studies I obtained my M.Sci. degree from the University of Aberdeen in the UK. For my Masters placement, I conducted a project in the Gräff Lab under the supervision of Dr D. M. Coda aiming to manipulate the epigenetic landscape of engram cells by over-expressing the histone acetylase enzyme CBP in these cells during fear conditioning. I then returned to Aberdeen to complete my degree with an Honours project supervised by Prof. J. Pettitt of The Aberdeen Worm Laboratory. Here, I computationally investigated the RNA processing mechanism known as "spliced-leader trans-splicing" in Isopoda and Copepoda. With my return to the Graff Lab I am interested in investigating the molecular substrate of remote memory extinction and uncovering the mysteries of cognitive reserve from a neuroepigenetic point of view.Education
