Expertise

I use experimental techniques including rock and magma deformation under in situ pressure and temperature conditions to understand the structure and behaviour of Earth materials. The majority of my research has focused on the evolution of permeability in Earth systems, with particular emphasis on the role of fractures in volcanic hazards and geothermal energy exploitation.
