I am a PhD student with a background in environmental microbiology, and I am interested in microbial metabolism - both at the level of a single cell and at the level of the entire microbial community - which is linked to elemental cycles.
For my PhD, I will study anaerobic communities in permafrost-affected alpine regions and their response to warming.
Previously, I worked on the metabolism and physiology of thermophilic sulfur-oxidizing bacteria in hot springs.
