Courses

Physics of the cell

Living organisms evolve in a physical world: their cells respond to mechanics, electricity and light. In this course, we will describe the behavior and function of cells using physical principles.

Practical - Persat Lab

The student will learn how to: - perform high resolution microscopy of single bacterial cells - perform a motility assay - operate high resolution microscope - analyze image data

Mechanobiology: how mechanics regulate life

The objective of this course is to expose students to the fundamentals of mechanobiology. We will highlight the technologies that enable the study of living systems including mechanical manipulation and characterization, along with computational modeling frameworks.
