Biography
Alia Bengana is an architect, she studied at the School of Architecture of Paris-Belleville and at the Sapienza of Rome. She has been granted by the Delano & Aldrich American Institute of architects scholarship. Since 2009 she opened her professional practice in Paris, and previously worked in Barcelona, New-York and Shanghai. For the past 10 years, she has specialized in the use of natural materials, especially focusing on earth. She has been teaching in Paris since 2015 and is a studio director year 1 at ALICE since 2020. She is a contributor for the Swiss French media Heidi.news for whom she wrote an exploration on Concrete « Béton, la fin d’une ère ? » that she ‘s turning into a comic book to be published in 2022.Teaching & PhD

This course questions sustainable materials and the available resources mobilized in Switzerland and in the world. It addresses the material in an architectural, anthropological and experimental approach from its extraction to its reuse and the social meanings of its production.
