Introduction to the modern history of Japan and China, the success of the modernization process in Japan, and the further development of militarism leading to a confrontation with China plagued by internal strife and a regime of unequal treaties.
History of contemporary Asia B
The course covers the history of East Asia during the Cold War : the victory of the communist party in China, the reconstruction of Japan, and the Korean and Indochinese wars.
