Biography
Elena Longhin PhD is an architect and landscape urbanist. Her work explores the idea of a territorial practice that acknowledges the inherently conflicting dynamics driving human occupation, whether urban or remote. Elena received her MArch and PhD in Architecture from the IUAV and is a graduate of the Landscape Urbanism Programme of the AA. She pursued her academic research also at HKU in Hong Kong, Tongji University of Shanghai and Xi’an Jiaontong-Liverpool University of Suzhou. She worked with several practices, including Secchi-Viganò and OMA, in Europe and Argentina. She has taught both in undergrad and postgrad programmes at the AA School of Architecture of London, as well as in various international visiting schools. Prior to joining EPFL in 2022, she was a post-doc researcher and tutor at the IUAV of Venice. Since 2016 she leads the VS Terrain Lab at the AA. Currently, she is a post-doc research fellow at TUDelft, the Netherlands and at EPFL where she is part of the Executive Board of the HRC Habitat Research Centre.Teaching & PhD
