Statistical physics of classical disordered systems, with focus on specific classes of models:
  • disordered elastic interfaces and random manifolds,
  • mesoscopic elasto-plastic models (spatially-resolved and effectively mean-field versions),
  • mean-field description of structurally disordered systems (e.g. glasses) in infinite dimensions,
  • continuous random perceptron model.
1D Kardar-Parisi-Zhang equation and its encompassing universality class, including for instance the directed polymer in random media in 1 1 dimensions.
Soft matter physics of dense structurally disordered systems, and in particular their plasticity in rheology/mechanics:
  • in complex fluids (such as foams or emulsions),
  • in amorphous solids (such as metallic glasses and granular materials),
  • in dense active matter such as confluent biological tissues.
Application to condensed-matter systems: characterisation of experimental interfaces, in particular domain walls in ferromagnetic or ferroelectric thin films, as disordered elastic systems.
