Mission

As the School's Radiation Protection Officer, he is responsible for coordinating all radiation protection activities at EPFL.
In addition to radiation protection, he is also involved in safety aspects related to the use of compressed gases and cryogenic liquids in research activities at EPFL.
Nuclear physicist with several years of experience in research and development of radiation detectors. After obtaining a master's degree in nuclear and particle physics in 2011 at the University of Rome Sapienza in Italy, he completed a PhD in 2015 at the same university in collaboration with the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI). After four years of post-doc, including one year at the National Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN) in Italy and three years at the University of Geneva, he joined EPFL in 2019 as a scientist. Here he worked as a Safety delegate (COSEC) alongside his research activity. In 2021 he completed the training of Radiation Protection Expert at the Institut de Radiophysique (IRA) of the CHUV.
In 2018 he joined the Volunteer Fire Brigade of the Groupement SIS of Geneva where he is currently a corporal. In 2022 he joined the NBC team of the Groupement SIS of Geneva as a specialised officer with the function of radioprotection instructor.
