Expertise
Integrated Photonics, Nanophotonics
Hugo obtained his PhD in electrical engineering and computer science at MIT under the supervision of Dirk Englund. His research focused on developing integrated circuits hosting various forms of programmable interactions between optical fields and atom-like systems. Before this, he completed his BSc and MSc in physics at the University of Ottawa where he worked with Ebrahim Karimi and Robert Boyd on generating and characterizing topologically structured waves for applications ranging from quantum cryptography to studies in fundamental physics. Hugo joined the LPQM lab as a postdoctoral researcher in 2024.
