Arsenic biotransformations in paddy soils

My research focuses on investigating how soil microorganisms transform arsenic, in particular in rice paddy environments. Although they are poorly understood, these microbial transformations mediate the toxicity and fate of arsenic, which impacts crop health. To isolate arsenic-transforming microorganisms from complex consortia, I aim to use a high-throughput, droplet-based microfluidics approach.
