Chemistry and Chemical Engineering

Courses

Advanced general chemistry I

This course comprises of two parts. The bases of the thermodynamics of equilibria and of the kinetics of reactions are introduced. The first notions of quantum chemistry on electrons and bonds, exemplified in organic chemistry, are presented in the second part.

Advanced general chemistry II

Fundamental knowledge on the reactivity of organic compounds and their identification by mass spectrometry, IR spectroscopy and nuclear magnetic resonance.

Sustainable chemistry and engineering in Industry

Experts from the Swiss Chemical industry, will be introducing key concepts of sustainable chemistry and chemical engineering of industrial relevance. Students will be able to learn from real hands-on problems and better understand the challenges faced in industry and work towards their resolution.

Modern Organic chemistry-Trends in the field

Total synthesis, Natural product, Green chemistry,Enantioselective synthesis, Organo-catalysis, Lewis acid,Transition-metal, Drug discovery.

Frontiers in Chemical Synthesis. Towards Sustainable Chemistry

This training will empowered the student with all the tools of modern chemistry, which will be highly useful for his potential career as a process or medicinal chemist in industry.
