Loïc Fumeaux is working on a PhD focused on the integration of sustainability criteria into the design process of temporary event infrastructures . A booming but still little explored field of architecture , for which the characteristics of use flexibility and economic efficiency often take precedence over considerations related to their impacts. From a methodological point of view his research is based on several cases studies from current practices. A catalog of existing structures , assessed using a multicriteria system adapted to their temporary nature , in the context of an overall consideration of multiples parameters of sustainability. Then from this observation and assessment phase, the research propose concrete strategies, in a form of a preliminary design. A research design approach which aims high level of comfort, optimal use of resources, minimization of environmental impacts and integration of bioclimatic strategies to achieve it. Finally, in a third time through a process of integrated design , the project will be developed in an iterative process involving interdisciplinary actors (users/engineers/ builders/operator), essential ranges of skills, to the achievement of an operational prototype which could meet initial objectives of high level of sustainability.
