Biography
Lucia is membre of the Swiss Technology Transfer Association (SwiTT) and Swiss Legal Tech Assciation (SLTA).She joined the EPFL Technology Transfer Office in March 2020 as contract manager. In this role, she assists EPFL professors and researchers by drafting and negotiating reserch contracts with industries, in particular for Innosuisse projects or for research projects with companies having an established framework agreement with EPFL. Previously to this role she entered Unitec, the technology transfer office of the Geneva University where she stayed for one year in 2019.
Lucia decided to move to the technology transfer sector to strenghten the link between research and industry after having gathered a direct experience in the research domain, with an active of about 50 scientific publications and by leading and participating to several international collaborations.
Lucia studied astrophysics in Padova - Italy, where she also obtained her PhD in physics in 2009. She worked as postodoc and then as associated researcher for 8 years in the astronomy department of the Geneva University. While there, Lucia was also the scientific liaison between european scientific and technical teams collectively responsibles for the scientific data analysis software of 3 instruments onboard the ESA Integral satellite.
