Marius Burgat is a graduate of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology at Zurich (ETHZ) and obtained a Masters degree in Public Administration from IDHEAP, Lausanne.
He worked as an advisor at the Vice President for International Relations.
Today he works as scientific advisor in the International Relations of EPFL. This unit focussed on the global positioning of the school and engages in activities that contribute to international cooperation and the development of EPFL as a universally recognized center of excellence in higher education.
Mr. Burgat has 18 years of experience at EPFL, including working on the design and implementation of strategy for faculty recruitment as well as overseeing several internal programs and reforms.
He has contributed to the definition of the international strategy of EPFL in Asia, particularly in China, and He is currently active in the cooperations with China, Korea, Taiwan, Japan and Singapore.
On April 1st, 2015, he joined the team "MOOCs for Africa" and contributes to prospection and development of news MOOCs between EPFL and African partners.
He speaks English, German, and French. Mr. Burgat is married and has three children.
