Biographie

Mathias Payer is a security researcher and professor at the EPFL school of computer and communication sciences (IC), leading the HexHive group. His research focuses on protecting applications in the presence of vulnerabilities, with a focus on memory corruption and type violations. He is interested in software security, system security, binary exploitation, effective mitigations, fault isolation/privilege separation, strong sanitization, and software testing (fuzzing) using a combination of binary analysis and compiler-based techniques. Information security and privacy

Ce cours fournit un aperçu des sujets de sécurité et de protection des données. Il donne aux étudiants les connaissances et les outils dont ils auront besoin pour faire face aux défis qu'ils sont susceptibles de rencontrer dans le monde. Il est illustrés par des applications pertinentes.

Software security

Ce cours porte sur les principes fondamentaux de la sécurité, les directives et principes de programmation sécurisée et les concepts avancés en sécurité des logiciels. Les étudiants apprennent à évaluer et à comprendre les menaces à travers des travaux pratiques.

Topics in software security

La corruption de la mémoire et les failles de sécurité de type dominent le paysage des menaces.Nous aborderons la recherche actuelle sous trois angles:l'assainissement ; le fuzzing et l'atténuation.
