Omer Can Karaman explores how light interacts with matter at the nanoscale to unlock new ways of controlling optical signals in space and time. His work at Laboratory of Nanoscience for Energy Technologies (LNET) blends nonlinear optics, quantum photonics, and advanced nanofabrication to develop tunable and reconfigurable photonic systems. From shaping quantum light in disordered silicon to engineering self-modulating metasurfaces and probing ultrafast electron dynamics in noble metals, his research seeks to push the boundaries of what's possible in photonic computing, quantum information, and dynamic wavefront control.
