étoiles chimiquement particulières, étoiles binaires et détermination de distances, premières générations d'étoiles, émission Lyman-alpha diffuse autour de quasars
Etudes de physique à l'Université de Neuchâtel puis à l'Université de Genève. Thèse de doctorat à l'Université de Genève sous la direction du Prof. Bernard Hauck (Université de Lausanne), et défendue en mai 1984. Mes activités de recherche ont d'abord porté sur la nature et l'évolution des étoiles chimiquement particulières, et sur les étoiles binaires à éclipses comme outils de détermination de distance ou d'étude de la formation et de l'évolution des étoiles. Plus tard, je me suis intéressé aux galaxies hôtes de quasars lointains, et je m'oriente maintenant vers l'étude des populations stellaires dans des galaxies proches, en particulier les naines sphéroïdales.
