Expertise
Translational neuroscience · Neuromodulation · Spinal cord injury & Parkinson’s disease · Multi-omics (single-cell, spatial transcriptomics, 3D cleared-tissue imaging) · Preclinical platform management · Swiss animal research regulation
Mission
To develop, coordinate, and supervise the preclinical activities of .NeuroRestore at EPFL, integrating innovative neuromodulation, gene therapy, and multi-omic strategies. To ensure regulatory compliance of all animal work, support scientific teams in experimental design, and build bridges between fundamental research and clinical translation.
Quentin Barraud is a neuroscientist and Director of the Mechanistic Division of .NeuroRestore (EPFL/CHUV/UNIL). His work focuses on restoring motor and autonomic functions after neurological injury by combining neuromodulation, gene therapy, and high-resolution multi-omic approaches. He leads the centre’s preclinical programs, coordinates major international projects, and drives the development of advanced 3D spatial biology pipelines at Campus Biotech. He supervises students and researchers and contributes to the translation of neurotechnologies from laboratory to clinic.
