Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the Federal University of Espírito Santo (UFES), Brazil and Research Fellow at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, US. He received the B.S and M.S in Mechanical Engineering from UFES in 2009 and 2013, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), Belo Horizonte, Brazil, in 2018. Since 2019, he has collaborated as a Research Fellow at Harvard Medical School with a postdoctoral internship awarded by Fulbright (Fulbright Junior Faculty Member Award) working at the Motion Analysis Lab (MAL) - Harvard Medical School/Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in robotic rehabilitation projects. He is Senior Member of the IEEE belonging to the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society and IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society. He is the coordinator of the Laboratory of Robotics and Biomechanics at UFES and also works as a collaborating researcher at the Laboratory of Bioengineering at UFMG. He has experience in Mechanical Engineering, Biomechanics, Bioengineering and Biomechatronics and works mainly with the following topics: Design and Control of Prostheses, Orthoses and Exoskeletons, Robotic Rehabilitation, Biomechatronics, Mechatronics, Intelligent Materials, and Bioengineering.
