Biography
Sönke Menke is pursuing his PhD at LMIS1 at EPFL. The biofabrication M.Sc. degree holder from Würzburg, Germany has a background in chemistry. After writing his bachelor’s thesis on Poly(2-oxazoline)s for drug delivery in the research groups of Prof. Pöppler (Würzburg) and Prof. Luxenhofer (Helsinki, Finland), he joined the lab of Prof. Tønnesen in Oslo, Norway at the University of Oslo to work on bioprinting of topical formulations based on collagen for 6 months. Thereafter, he went to join the Dalton Lab in Eugene, OR, USA at the University of Oregon to expand the library of polymers for melt electrowriting, a novel 3D printing technique for micro and nanostructures. After finishing his Master's thesis at the Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane, Australia on thermoresponsive polymers for drug delivery in the lab of Prof. Dargaville he joined LMIS1 at EPFL.Publications
