Dr. Sofia Berdysheva holds a Ph.D. in Economics and Management from the Technical University of Munich and a Master’s degree in Energy Economics from the New Economic School in Moscow. She also worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the Bureau of Economic Geology at the University of Texas at Austin for two years, where she researched global water use for power plant cooling and assessment of expected ultimate recovery of oil and natural gas basins. Her research interests include the energy transition, network analysis of global trade, and the resilience of trade networks to external shocks.
