Yiqun Wang
Biography
Dr. Yiqun Wang is an architect, landscape architect, and urban designer whose research and practice focus on trans-scalar urban water infrastructures, examined through the lenses of aesthetics, technology, ecology, and culture. He introduced the concept of the “Hyper Landscape Cyborg” to describe their hybrid roles in the Anthropocene. His project involvements—both built and ongoing—include the Shawan Water Supply Plant in Shenzhen; the Public Utility Commission's Southeast Plant Biosolids Digester Facilities in San Francisco; the New Bund Ecumenical Church in Shanghai; the Suzhou No. 2 Library; and a community and industrial exhibition infrastructure in Huatong Township, Jiangxi, China. His work has been exhibited at Digital China (2025), the Harvard GSD Druker Design Gallery (2022–2024), the Beijing Urban and Architecture Biennale (2020–2021), the Los Angeles A & D Museum (2019), and the Venice Architecture Biennale (2016). He has taught, lectured, and participated in design reviews at institutions including the University of Innsbruck, UC San Diego, Tsinghua University, Tongji University, and Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Dr. Wang holds dual master’s degrees in Architecture in Urban Design(MAUD) and Landscape Architecture (MLA I AP) from Harvard GSD, where he received the Dean’s Merit Scholarship. During his time at the GSD, he served as the President of ChinaGSD and as a Board Member of the SIP Committee within the Department of Urban Planning and Design.Professional course
