Fields of expertise

Over twenty years professional research experience in materials science and physics, specialized in the experimental study of microdeformation and morphology in polymers, materials tailoring and advanced composites, nanocomposites and hybrid materials. Expertise in microscopy of organic and inorganic matter, with emphasis on in situ deformation studies, and morphological and crystallographic structure by TEM, HREM and AFM.

Materials Science and Engineering

Courses

Polymer science TP

Introduction to polymer physics and the link between chemical structure and macroscopic properties, with emphasis on morphology and thermomechanical behaviour, polymer technology and manufacturing techniques, providing a basis for the rational selection of polymers in an industrial context.

Fracture of materials

This course covers elementary fracture mechanics and its application to the fracture of engineering materials.

Polymer morphological characterization techniques

Sample preparation and direct observation techniques (optical microscopy, AFM, electron microscopy) and their practical application to the study of morphology and microdeformation in polymers.

Assembly techniques

Introduction to the assembly of materials by homogeneous or heterogeneous joints (welding, bonding, mechanical assembly). Mechanical and environmental resistance of joints.
