The students will learn the fundamentals in ecology with the goal to perceive the environment beyond its physical and chemical characteristics. Starting from basic concepts, they will acquire mechanistic understanding of biodiversity, ecosystem functioning and global change.
This course deals with the realization, by the students of the 3 ENAC sections, of a natural stone structure, vegetalized and equipped with environmental sensors. This structure will consist in 2022 of a natural stone wall that will serve as a bench on the EPFL campus.
This teaching unit proposes a reflection on the campus EPFL environment through short and long term interventions which aim to improve the public and green spaces of the campus - while encouraging the interactions between all of the species inhabiting the campus.
