Technologie du Bâti V deals with building as a 'system' of technical and cultural operations that comprise environmental, material, structural and assembly choices. This is meant to help students acquire critical building design abilities.
Detailed descriptions of complex building projects are employed to examine the relationship between spatial, environmental, structural, material and design. Concrete application of the topics studied in Tech. du Bâti V and a major integrative case study are required.
The atelier will reflect on the role of architecture and technology in an environmentally sensitive, production-specific and culturally rich setting such as Lavaux, where the students will consider accommodation, rehersal, and performing facilities for visiting guitar musicians.
Superstudio provides an opportunity to experience multidisciplinary design within a data-rich work environment. Superstudio participants will learn how to relate specialist knowledge to a particular context, and how to integrate numerous technical dimensions into a complex whole.
